writer, recovering academic
The story of my career is a series of high-minded shoulds quickly abandoned for passions. Studying psychology quickly degraded into English. A life chasing tenure relaxed into a few wonderful years teaching community college. And then when the first of many military moves sent my husband and I packing, I finally made the riotous, unflinching jump into writing full-time. I thought that would be the end of it… until I set aside sprawling epic fantasies for a cottage-core, dark-academia dream: The Moon Tells No Lies.
My unique blend of critical and creative approaches to literature makes me a sucker for theme, character, and atmosphere. It took a quiet #witchyhorrorromance for me to truly understand that magic.
